Man and Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Plaza Boulevard Sunday
National City, CA (October 18, 2021) – Two people died following a car and pedestrian accident that occurred on the Interstate 805 Freeway Sunday evening.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a gray Toyota XA collided with another vehicle in the northbound side of the freeway near Plaza Boulevard. After the crash, the two occupants of the gray Toyota XA got out of the car; and jumped over the center median of the freeway. The driver and passenger apparently tried to run across the southbound lanes of I-805.
Deadly Car, Pedestrian Accident in National City [October 17]
Authorities said the passing vehicles struck the man, and the woman. The article published online mentioned a Chevrolet Silverado hit the female party, and a Mazda sedan hit the male party. Officials confirmed both victims suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The names of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Additional details on the unfortunate event have not been revealed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the deadly car and pedestrian accident in National City.
