Man Injured in National City Crash on L Avenue Near Plaza
NATIONAL CITY, CA (January 21, 2023) – One was hospitalized after a DUI crash on L Avenue in National City.
According to a report posted by the 911 Video News, the accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck on January 20 at about 10:38 a.m.
The incident happened when a Lexus, facing southbound on L Avenue, was making a left-hand turn into the CVS parking lot in National City. A BMW was traveling in the same direction at the time.
Police said the BMW then slammed into the rear of the Lexus in the 900 block of L Avenue. The two crashed near Plaza Boulevard.
DUI Driver Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man driving the Lexus hurt. His female passenger ended up unharmed as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police saw crystal meth in a foil inside the male driver of the BMW‘s pocket. They determined that the suspect was under the influence and soon arrested him for DUI.
Officers forced a stretch of L Avenue to shut down near Plaza following the wreck. The National City crash is still under investigation.
