2 Students Injured in National City Pedestrian Crash at 24th Street and D Avenue
NATIONAL CITY, CA (November 10, 2022) – A pedestrian crash left two students injured at 24th Street and D Avenue in National City.
According to an article published by the FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 7:44 a.m.
National City police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the two students walking in a crosswalk. The driver hit the pedestrians as they crossed the intersection of East 24th Street and D Avenue.
Children Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene near the Sweetwater Union High School. They found both children who ended up hurt as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel soon provided treatment to the victims for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the collision. National City police did not disclose the condition of the students at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of 24th Street and D Avenue to shut down following the incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
