Truck Driver Hurt in Collision Between 43rd and 47th Street
National City, CA (April 3, 2022) – A tow-truck driver suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred the Interstate 805 Freeway.
Car Crashes Into Vehicle Towed on Interstate 805 in National City
According to an article published online by the San Diego Union-Tribune, a tow truck was assisting a stranded motorist on the side of a freeway Sunday afternoon. Our sources indicated the truck parked on the right-hand shoulder of northbound I-805. While loading a disabled Dodge Charger, an oncoming gray Honda CRV struck the Charge. The collision took place in the area between 43rd and 47th Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Honda was traveling at a high rate of the speed prior to the crash.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the site. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the tow-truck driver found with injuries. Per local news sources, the victim sustained injuries; after the force from the impact knocked him several feet away from the door of his truck.
Additional details on the incident remained undisclosed. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the traffic accident on Interstate 805 in National City.
