Nayely Lopez, 26, ID’d as Suspect in South Lake Tahoe DUI Crash on Chonokis Road
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (May 23, 2022) – Authorities detained Nayely Lopez after a DUI crash on Chonokis Road in South Lake Tahoe.
Police determined that the 26-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Nayely Mora Lopez struck another car head-on in South Lake Tahoe. Their vehicles crashed on Chonokis Road, near Pioneer Trail.
The Tahoe Daily Tribune, wrote that the collision occurred on May 21 at about 10:10 p.m. Paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the three occupants of the victim car hurt.
3 Injured in Wreck
All three patients sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel took them to the Barton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police added that the suspect had a 3-year-old passenger when she hit the victims.
Officers arrested Nayely Lopez for DUI and child endangerment. They soon took her into custody in lieu of a $250,000 bail.
The cause of the South Lake Tahoe DUI crash is still under investigation.
