Girl, 15, Killed in Truck Accident on Labor Day Weekend
BLYTHE, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2024) — Jada Johnson, 15, of Bellevue, Nebraska, died Sunday night over the Labor Day weekend in a big rig truck crash on the Interstate 10 Freeway near Blythe, California.
The teenager was identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The traffic accident occurred at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2nd in the eastbound lanes of the Redlands 10 Freeway at mile marker 147, Blythe.
The big rig truck reportedly overturned onto its side due to unknown circumstances.
Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters responded and freed one person from the wreckage using hydraulic tools and the teen suffered fatal injuries near the crash scene, fire officials said.
It’s unknown what led to the collision, but the CHP Blythe station is handling the investigation.
