NEEDLES, California (Tuesday, March 8, 2016) – A traffic collision caused a big-rig truck hauling ice-cream to overturn at the 15200 mile marker on Interstate 40 Freeway. The accident required hard closure for about two hours. The driver of the big-rig emerged on his own power. At least one party involved in the accident sustained serious injuries however and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon at about 1:19 p.m., according to an incident report by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow. A salvage recovery tractor was sent to help clear the big-rig from the roadway.
