Caltrans Vehicle Involved in Car Accident on Highway 49

NEVADA CITY, Calif. (March 20, 2025) — A major injury crash in Nevada City happened Thursday at Highway 49 (Golden Center Freeway), just east of the Gold Flat Road off-ramp.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on eastbound SR-49 at around 2 p.m. on March 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a Caltrans vehicle and a Honda were involved in a collision.

Paramedics responded and transported at least one person with major injuries to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.

Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles and investigators are working to determine fault for the Highway 49 crash in Nevada City.
