Major Injury Motorcycle Crash
NEVADA CITY, Calif. (July 5, 2023) — A Nevada City motorcycle accident happened Wednesday afternoon on Golden Chain Highway 49, just southeast of Rainbow Market and Indian Flat Road.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 1:38 p.m. on July 5th, at 17049 State Route 49, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Motorcyclist Hurt in Car Accident
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the traffic accident. CHP officials reported the vehicles were blocking the roadway and the rider went down in traffic lanes. The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and required an ambulance.
Paramedics responded and took the injured person to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the damaged motorcycle from State Route 49.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on Highway 49.
