At Least 1 Hospitalized After Collision on Highway 101 (El Camino Real) Saturday
Newbury Park, CA (September 19, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a car crash that occurred on State Route Highway 101, also known as El Camino Real.
Initial records indicated two vehicles collided in the southbound side of the freeway at Borchard Road. Officials described the cars involved in the wreck as a white Mercedes sedan, and a white Volkswagen Jetta.
Shortly after 1:57 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site. First responders found the Volkswagen Jetta disabled in the number two lane of the highway.
Minor Injury Car Crash in Newbury Park, September 18
Paramedics at the scene immediately rendered aid to the victims in the collision. According to the CHP dispatch, at least one person suffered minor to moderate injuries as a result of the wreck. An ambulance transported the injured party to a hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the car crash on Highway 101 in Newbury Park.
