NEWBURY PARK, California (July 25, 2016) – A man identified as Zachary Allen Crook, 30, of Thousand Oaks, was killed in a DUI collision Monday evening on Rancho Dos Vientos.
The accident happened on July 25, Monday at about 7:13 p.m.
In detail, the article mentioned a solo vehicle driven by Josue Arturo Hernandez, 19, of Mission Hills, crashed into a tree allowing the vehicle to leave the road after taking a turn too quickly.
The vehicle was traveling at excessive speeds so it continued on to hit a second tree.
Per the KVTA News, Zachary Crook sustained very serious injuries and was extricated from the vehicle by firefighter personnel. He was rushed to Los Robles Medical Center where he did not survive and was later pronounced dead.
Josue Hernandez was able to escape the vehicle via the help of firefighters before being transported to Los Robles Medical Center. After close observation and some testing, it was determined that he was confirmed to have been under the influence and was subsequently arrested at the hospital and will face several charges.
