2 Hospitalized After Collision Near Lyons Avenue
Newhall, CA (October 18, 2022) – Two people suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on 5 Freeway.
Auto vs. Big Rig Accident on 5 Freeway in Newhall
According to KHTS News, a collision between a big rig and a Honda Accord took place in the northbound side of the freeway; just south of Lyons Avenue.
Earlier reports indicated the driver of the Honda lost control while driving on I-5. Subsequently, the car slammed into the back of the semi truck. The force from the impact left the Honda pinned underneath the big rig. Several other cars got involved in the mishap.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the all possible victims in the crash. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed two people suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel transported the injured parties to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the traffic collision that happened on 5 Freeway in Newhall.
