Newhall crash 14 Freeway Placerita
5 Injured in Newhall Crash on 14 Freeway Near Placerita Canyon Road
NEWHALL, CA (May 13, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash on the 14 Freeway near Placerita Canyon Road in Newhall.
According to The Signal and Hometown Station, the accident took place late Friday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 11:40 a.m.
The incident began when an SUV was going south on the 14 Freeway in Newhall. For an unknown reason, the vehicle collided with another car.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the SUV rolled over and landed on the northbound side of the highway near Placerita Canyon Road.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant from the wreckage. A total of five people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patients to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the 14 Freeway to shut down near Placerita Canyon following the wreck. The cause of the Newhall crash is still under investigation.
