Deadly Traffic Collision on Casitas Pass
Lake Casitas, CA (August 17, 2022) – Nicholas Ryan Cooper, a 38-year-old man, died following a motorcycle accident that occurred on Highway 150, also known as Casitas Pass.
The Ventura County Star News published an article online reporting a collision between a motorcyclist and a 2022 Mazda CX-9 SUV.
Per local news source, Cooper was riding a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja heading west on the highway. Our sources indicated the motorcyclist crossed over the opposite lanes as he approached a turn west of Rameli Ranch. Authorities said the rider ended up crashing into an oncoming traffic.
Emergency crews arrived at the accident scene shortly after 2:35 p.m.
Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Highway 150
Medical personnel rendered first aid to the motorcyclist, then rushed him to the chlorination plant along Highway 150. A Ventura County helicopter then airlifted the patient to Ventura County Medical Center; where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The California Highway Patrol group identified the deceased as Nicholas Ryan Cooper, of Santa Barbara.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. They continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly collision that happened on Highway 150 between Lake Casitas and Carpinteria.
