Nicolas Farino, 19, ID’d as Suspect in Hesperia DUI Crash at Main and Walnut
HESPERIA, CA (April 27, 2022) – Authorities detained Nicolas Farino after a fatal DUI crash at Main Street and Walnut Street in Hesperia.
Deputies determined that the 19-year-old Arizona man was under the influence when the wreck took place on Monday night.
The incident began when Nicolas Farino was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram recklessly east on Main Street in Hesperia. At the same time, a 2005 Jeep Liberty was going west.
Officers said the Jeep then made a left turn to travel south onto Walnut Street. In the process, the pickup truck slammed into the passenger side of the Liberty.
Woman, 18, Killed in Wreck
The Jeep rolled onto its side due to the impact of the collision. The Victor Valley News wrote that the accident occurred on April 25 at about 9:38 p.m.
The driver of the overturned car, an 18-year-old Hesperia woman, died at the scene. Nicolas Farino and his two passengers, ages 18 and 16, sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics took all three patients to a hospital for further aid. Meanwhile, officers arrested Nicolas Farino for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
They soon booked him into the High Desert Detention Center. The Hesperia DUI crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the station at (760) 947-1500.
