DESERT CENTER, California (June 16, 2016) — Nicolas Madrigales, 20, and Juan Carlos Leon Jr., 23, were killed Thursday morning in a head-on crash on the westbound interstate 10 freeway, according to The Press Enterprise.
The collision took place at 5:35 AM, just west of Ford Dry Lake.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Madrigales and Leon were traveling the wrong way in a Toyota Corolla when their car crashed into a semi-truck.
Riverside Coroner’s Office confirmed that both suffered fatal injuries following the wreck. Madrigales was from Bakersfiled while Leon was a resident of Walnut,
Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig, Javier Rodriguez of Tarpon Springs, Fla., was unharmed.
The incident remains under investigation.
