Nicole Bowers, 35; and Daniel Bowers, 40, Injured in Amador County Crash on Highway 16
AMADOR COUNTY, CA (November 8, 2021) – Nicole Bowers and Daniel Bowers were injured after a fatal crash on Highway 16 in Amador County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Sutter Creek couple as victims of the collision which took place on Saturday.
The incident began when 35 year-old Nicole Bowers was driving a 2019 GMC Yukon east on Highway 16 in Amador County. Her husband, 40 year-old Daniel Bowers, was in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado behind her.
A 2006 Chevrolet Impala traveling west veered to the right off of the paved roadway for an unknown reason. The Impala drove onto the gravel shoulder and then turned to the left.
Woman, 25, Killed in Wreck
In the process, the Impala spun out of control towards the eastbound lane and slammed into the GMC. The Yukon swerved off the road, rolled over multiple times and landed on its wheels.
CHP said the Impala continued into the eastbound lane and collided with the Silverado. Both the Impala and the Silverado went off the highway onto the south shoulder and came to a stop with major damage.
Nicole Bowers, Daniel Bowers and their children sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics soon provided treatment to their wounds.
The driver of the Impala, a 25-year-old Sacramento woman, died at the scene. The Ledger Dispatch wrote that the accident occurred on November 6 at about 4:26 p.m., west of Latrobe Road.
