Teen Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Near El Campo Road
Nipomo, CA (May 15, 2022) – A 19-year-old bicycle rider died following a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred on Los Berros Road, the KSBY News reported.
Our sources indicated a vehicle struck the cyclist just south of El Campo Road near Arroyo Grande. The accident took place Thursday at approximately 11:20 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found an Addmotor bicycle broken and with significant damage. The cyclist sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the article published online mentioned the driver involved in the horrible crash fled the scene. The California Highway Patrol later located, and arrested the hit-and-run suspect. Officers booked the man into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident on Los Berros Road in Nipomo.
