2 Men Killed in Car Accident Near Wineman Road
NIPOMO, San Luis Obispo County (May 27, 2018) – Two men were killed in a traffic collision on South Thompson Avenue near Wineman Road Saturday evening, according to the Tribune.
Primary reports indicated a 1999 Lexus RX300 heading south on South Thompson Avenue drove off the roadway, for reasons still under investigation. As per the article, the Lexus approached a left curve in the area and the driver allowed his car to veer right and travel off the west side of the road.
As the Lexus traveled onto the dirt shoulder, the driver made an abrupt left turn to try and get his car back on the road, officials said. That abrupt movement caused the Lexus to turn left and rotate counterclockwise as it traveled southeast across the road. The car then went off the east side of the road, hit an embankment and overturned.

The two fatalities remained unidentified pending notification of next of kin.
