At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on 15 Freeway Monday
Nipton, CA (August 16, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred on the Interstate 15 Freeway Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Officials said two vehicles collided in the northbound side of the freeway in Nipton. According to the CHP log, the incident involved a black Volkswagen and a white SUV. The force from the impact caused the SUV to overturn and roll down a ditch along the highway.
Shortly after 5:14 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. First responders found the SUV approximately 50 feet off the roadway.
Responding paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck.

Meanwhile, the CHP mentioned the driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene before police arrived. Details on the hit-and-run suspect have not been revealed thus far.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate several factors surrounding the hit-and-run crash in Nipton.
