Nirivana Allen Loses Legs in Antioch Hit-and-Run at Hillcrest Avenue on Highway 4
ANTIOCH, CA (April 8, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash severely injured Nirivana Allen at the Hillcrest Avenue off-ramp from Highway 4 in Antioch.
Police identified the Oakland man as the victim of the collision which occurred late last month, on February 28.
The incident happened when Nirivana ‘Nob’ Allen was driving a Mercedes and then took the Hillcrest Avenue exit off Highway 4 in Antioch.
He then pulled to the shoulder due to mechanical issue and exited his car to get the gas can from the trunk. He was traveling with his two children, including a 6-year-old girl, and a nephew at the time.
Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene
Police said another vehicle approached and rear-ended Nirivana Allen and his Mercedes. He ended up pinned between the two vehicles as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the man suffering from severe injuries to his legs. An air ambulance took him to the hospital where both of his legs got amputated.
The children riding with him did not sustain any wound upon impact. Loved ones created a GoFundMe page to help cover the existing medical bills of Nob Allen.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the other driver involved abandoned her car and fled in another vehicle. Authorities soon located and arrested the 37-year-old woman.
East County Today and KTVU News reported the accident at about 10:38 p.m. The Antioch hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
