Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on Chollas Parkway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 7, 2020) – Norman Jay Jackson, 48, of San Diego, died early Friday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Chollas Parkway in San Diego.
The fatal accident was reported at 12:55 a.m. on July 3rd in Chollas Creek neighborhood, according to the San Diego Union Tribune. Jackson was walking in the street near several parked cars prior to being hit by a vehicle and thrown about 150 feet.
A driver who police say was speeding struck Jackson while driving southbound struck in the 5300 block of Chollas Parkway.
After hitting Jackson, the vehicle reportedly carried the man a short distance before he came off. Paramedics responded and found the victim thrown off and left lying on the road following the crash.
Unfortunately, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene and he was later identified by the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The motorist involved apparently stopped briefly after hitting the victim before they fled south on 54th Street.
The suspect’s car was described as a racer-type vehicle with a loud muffler.
