2 Injured in North Berkeley Pedestrian Crash at Cedar and California Streets
NORTH BERKELEY, CA (October 1, 2022) – A mother and a child were hospitalized after a pedestrian crash at Cedar and California streets in North Berkeley.
According to an article published by the Berkeleyside, the accident took place last week on Friday. Officers reported the collision at about 8:30 a.m.
The incident happened on September 23 when a woman and her 7-year-old son were crossing Cedar Street at the intersection with California Street. At the same time, a vehicle was going east on Cedar.
Police said the motorist came to a stop at California, thought the intersection was clear and then resumed driving. In the process, the car struck the victims in a North Berkeley pedestrian crosswalk.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Martin Luther King Jr Middle School. They found the mother and the boy hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital with cuts on their face and complaints of pain. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. Officers forced the area of Cedar and California streets to shut down after the accident.
The cause of the North Berkeley pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
