Bicyclist Injured in North Fair Oaks Hit-and-Run at Middlefield and Dumbarton
NORTH FAIR OAKS, CA (January 17, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash injured a bicyclist at Middlefield Road and Dumbarton Avenue in North Fair Oaks.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 2:14 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in North Fair Oaks. The driver hit the bicyclist at the intersection of Middlefield Road and Dumbarton Avenue.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Woodside Road. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose the name of the cyclist and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid the rider and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Middlefield and Dumbarton to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the North Fair Oaks hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
