Bicycle Rider Critically Injured in Car Accident in North Highlands
NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2021) — A North Highlands bicycle accident happened Friday morning at Madison Avenue and Harrison Street.
The collision happened about 9:30 a.m. at the North Highlands intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported a red GMC struck the bicycle rider due to unknown circumstances. The rider went down in the roadway and suffered major injuries.
Someone called 911 for help and dispatchers sent out the Sacramento Fire Department. Paramedics responded and rushed the injured person to a hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver in the GMC stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators seek to determine liability for the collision.
