Child Injured in North Highlands Hit-and-Run at Watt and Freedom Park
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (October 18, 2021) – A child was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Watt Avenue Freedom and Park Drive in North Highlands.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the incident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 8:32 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the 10-year-old child for an unknown reason in North Highlands. The driver hit the juvenile at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Freedom Park Drive.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the North Highlands Recreation and Parks District. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the unknown injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not release the condition of the young pedestrian at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the minor and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection of Watt and Freedom Park to close following the crash.
The cause of the North Highlands hit-and-run is still under investigation.
