Pedestrian Injured in North Highlands Hit-and-Run on Watt Avenue Near Store
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (August 23, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Watt Avenue near a store in North Highlands.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:47 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in front of the Crown Wig and Beauty Supply store. The driver hit the person at 6705 Watt Avenue in North Highlands.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Elkhorn Boulevard. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the pedestrian and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Watt Avenue near the store to shut down for a time following the collision.
The cause of the North Highlands hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
