2 Critically Injured in North Hollywood Crash on 101 Freeway Near Lankershim
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 24, 2022) – A car crash critically injured two people on the 101 Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood.
According to an article published by the CBS Los Angeles, the accident took place early Tuesday. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:10 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said five vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the North Hollywood neighborhood. They crashed on the southbound 101 Freeway, just south of Lankershim Boulevard.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
One of the cars involved slammed into the center divider and another rolled onto its side upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found two patients who sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. At least one of them ended up unconscious following the incident.
Medical personnel then took both victims to a hospital in critical condition. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of the 101 Freeway to shut down near Lankershim after the wreck. The cause of the North Hollywood crash is still under investigation.
