1 Killed, 2 Injured in North Hollywood Crash on Sherman Way
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 2, 2021) – One was killed and two were injured after a DUI crash on Sherman Way in North Hollywood.
According to an article published by the CBS Los Angeles, the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 11 p.m.
The incident happened on October 1 when a pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed in the North Hollywood neighborhood.
Police said the speeding driver then tried to make a turn into the Denny’s parking lot. In the process, the pickup crashed into the side of an SUV.
Speeding DUI Driver Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They confirmed that a back seat passenger in one of the cars involved died as a result of the collision.
Two other people ended up hurt following the wreck. Medical personnel took them to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police determined that the motorist in the pickup was under the influence when they hit the other vehicle.
Officers soon arrested and booked the driver into jail on suspicion of DUI. The fatal North Hollywood crash is still under investigation.
Authorities forced a stretch of Sherman Way to shut down for hours following the wreck.
