Pedestrian, 25, Seriously Injured in North Park Crash on Illinois Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 21, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash on Illinois Street in North Park.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision at about 9 p.m.
The incident happened on July 20 when a female pedestrian was walking her dog in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. She was walking east across Illinois Street at the time.
Police said the dog then pulled the 25-year-old woman into the street. In the process, a 2003 BMW Z4 approached and struck her near Meade Avenue.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim down on the ground. She sustained life-threatening injuries, including a brain bleed, a fractured left leg and various cuts and scrapes as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the wounded patient to a hospital for treatment. The reports did not disclose her name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver stopped or stayed at the site after hitting the woman. Officers forced a stretch of Illinois Street to shut down following the collision.
