Skateboarder Suffers Fractured Skill in Collision at Wightman and Arnold
North Park, CA (July 9, 2022) – A 39-year-old man sustained serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Wightman Street and Arnold Avenue Friday evening.
According to FOX News, and San Diego Union-Tribune, the adult male was riding a skateboarder heading west on the north sidewalk of Wightman Street. When the skateboarder approached the intersection at Arnold Avenue, he attempted to cross the street. Earlier reports indicated an oncoming vehicle traveling north on Arnold struck the skateboarder as he left the sidewalk.
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 10:30 p.m. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the skateboarder found suffering in injuries. Officials said the victim suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed due to the force from the impact. Emergency crews rushed the injured party to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Meanwhile, the driver involved in the collision appeared unharmed.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the major accident at Wightman Street and Arnold Avenue.
