Man Killed in North Sacramento Hit-and-Run Near Northgate Boulevard and Tandy Drive
NORTH SACRAMENTO, CA (June 20, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near Northgate Boulevard and Tandy Drive in North Sacramento.
According to the KCRA News and CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident occurred on Sunday night. Officers reported the collision at around 9:10 p.m.
The incident began when a male pedestrian was walking in the North Sacramento community. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him near the intersection of Northgate Boulevard and Tandy Drive.
Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle Near Interstate 80
Police said the driver hit the man near the Interstate 80. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found him left lying on the road as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
Officials forced Northgate Boulevard and the I-80 on-ramp and off-ramp to shut down following the collision. The fatal North Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
