Woman, 41, Killed in North San Juan Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 49
NEVADA COUNTY (August 21, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed after an alleged hit-and-run crash along Highway 49 in North San Juan early Friday.
According to reports by The Union and CBS Sacramento, officers received a call about the tragic accident shortly before 5:30 a.m. near a bar.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck a 41-year-old North San Juan woman for an unknown reason on Highway 49 in front of the Brass Rail.

Paramedics responded and found the pedestrian left lying in the roadway as a result of the collision. They ultimately pronounced her dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved allegedly failed to stop after hitting the victim and then fled the area.
