Pedestrian Injured in North San Juan Accident on Highway 49
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (May 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after an accident on Highway 49 in the area of North San Juan.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident as a hit-and-run on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the crash at about 3:34 p.m.
According to their dispatch team, a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in North San Juan. The driver hit the person on Highway 49 near New School Road West.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene and found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist immediately stopped after hitting the victim. They described the car involved as a Subaru Outback.
Officers forced the highway to close for a time following the crash. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the North San Juan pedestrian accident.
