Man Killed, Granddaughter Injured in Fresno Hit-and-Run on Weber Avenue
FRESNO, Calif. (September 16, 2020) – Nou Yang, 62, of Fresno, died Saturday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident while crossing Weber Avenue with his 4-year-old granddaughter.
The traffic accident took place about 7:15 p.m. near West Clinton Avenue, according to the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner.
A driver in a dark-colored vehicle struck the victim as he was pushing his 4-year-old granddaughter in a stroller across North Weber Avenue.
The Fresno man was knocked to the ground and the stroller with the child inside to the ground. Paramedics responded to the scene and found both victims in the roadway, but the motorist who hit them had fled the scene without stopping to help them.
The man was transported by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died. The little girl who was in the stroller suffered bumps and bruises.
The suspect fled southbound on Weber Avenue towards Highway 99. The fatal collision remains under investigation.
