1 Injured in Novato DUI Hit-and-Run Crash Alameda Del Prado Near Posada Del Sol
NOVATO, CA (August 27, 2022) – One was injured after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Alameda Del Prado in Novato.
According to an article published by the Marin Independent Journal, the accident took place earlier this month. Officers reported the wreck on August 9 at about 8:15 a.m.
The incident happened when a Mercedes E280 slammed into the rear of a Honda Civic on Alameda Del Prado in the Ignacio area of Novato. The two cars crashed north of Posada Del Sol.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the driver of the Honda hurt. They provided aid to the victim who complained of pain following the collision.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol said the man driving the Mercedes did not stop to help and fled the area. His car ended up disabled after about 1,000 feet from the accident site.
Police determined that he was under the influence when he hit the other vehicle. They soon arrested and booked him into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and various DUI offenses.
The Novato crash is still under investigation. Officers forced a stretch of Alameda Del Prado to shut down as a result of the wreck.
