2 Injured in Novato Pedestrian Crash Near De Long and Redwood
NOVATO, CA (December 11, 2022) – A pedestrian crash seriously injured two people near De Long Avenue and Redwood Boulevard in Novato.
According to the KRON 4 News and Marin Independent Journal, the accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the collision on December 5 shortly after 6 p.m.
The incident began when a vehicle was going west on De Long Avenue, approaching Redwood Boulevard. The driver was making a right turn on Redwood when they possibly suffered a medical emergency.
Driver Suffers Medical Emergency, Hits Victims
Novato police said the motorist then lost control of the car and struck two pedestrians. Both victims sustained moderate to major injuries injuries as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics rushed the patients to a hospital for treatment. Police added that he motorist stopped and stayed at the site following the incident.
Medical personnel transported the driver for further aid. The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of De Long and Redwood to shut down after the accident. The cause of the Novato pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
