3 Injured in Oak View Crash on Highway 33 Near Encino Drive
OAK VIEW, CA (March 19, 2022) – A car crash left several people injured on Highway 33 in the Oak View community of Ventura County.
According to an article published by The Ventura County Star, the accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8 p.m.
The incident happened on March 18 when a white pickup truck was going north on Highway 33 in Oak View. At the same time, a Toyota Prius was heading south.
For an unknown reason, the pickup crossed over the double-yellow lines. The truck then slammed head-on into the Toyota south of Encino Drive.
Multiple Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said a blue Subaru traveling behind the Prius failed to stop in time and collided with it. A car involved rolled over on the highway, known as North Ventura Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated three trapped occupants from the wreckage. One of them, the driver of the pickup, sustained life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel rushed the person to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. Another victim ended up with moderate injuries while the third patient survived with minor injuries.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the Oak View crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced Highway 33 to shut down in both directions for about three and a half hours near Encino following the wreck.
