Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Oak View Crash on Highway 33
OAK VIEW, CA (September 15, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 33 in Oak View.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the incident at about 8:40 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Oak View. The driver struck the person on Highway 33, known as North Ventura Avenue.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Devil’s Gulch. They found the victim lying on the right shoulder as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP located a white Chevrolet truck and a Toyota Scion at the site following the crash. Officers forced a stretch of Highway 33 to close for a time after the accident.
The cause of the Oak View pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
