Bicyclist, 24, Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Fruitvale Avenue Thursday
OAKDALE, Ca (October 8, 2019) – A 24-year-old man died in a traffic accident on Fruitvale Avenue, according to CBS News.
Primary reports indicated the bicyclist was riding southbound on Fruitvale Thursday evening. When the man approached the 1800 block of Fruitvale, the bicyclist hit the open door of a Toyota Avalon parked in the area.
Per local news source, the impact instantly ejected the man onto the traffic lanes. Subsequently, a passing 2015 Dodge Ram pickup headed south on Fruitvale failed to avoid and run over the rider.

Our sources indicated the bicyclist died at the scene as a result of the collision. Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Authorities mentioned the drivers of both the Toyota and the Dodge stayed in the area after the accident.
