Oakdale, CA (July 30, 2021) – An Oakdale police officer suffered injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred on East F Street Friday afternoon, the CBS Sacramento News reported.

Preliminary investigation revealed a authorities received a call around 12:30 p.m. regarding a man sleeping inside a parked car in front of the Save Mart. When deputies arrived at the location, they attempted to contact the driver. Responding officers opened the unlocked door, causing the driver to wake up.

Our sources indicated the male driver put the car in reverse for an unknown reason. As a result, the officer ended up pinned against the open driver’s side door. The suspect continued driving and dragged the officer approximately 30 feet away from Save Mart.
