Oakdale Police Officer Seriously Injured in Crash on West F Street
OAKDALE, CA (August 4, 2022) – A crash left a police officer seriously injured on West F Street in Oakdale.
According to The Modesto Bee and KCRA News, the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision shortly after 8 p.m.
The incident happened on August 3 when an Oakdale police sergeant was conducting traffic control in the 1300 block of West F Street. A suspected DUI accident with minor injuries occurred in the area.
Car Hits Officer
For an unknown reason, a vehicle going east struck the officer. Paramedics then arrived at the scene and found the 22-year veteran hurt.
The victim sustained a broken leg as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital where he soon underwent surgery.
The reports added that the officer was listed in stable condition. Meanwhile, officials forced a stretch of F Street to shut down for a time following the Oakdale crash.
Police did not mention if the driver who hit the sergeant stopped or stayed at the site after the accident. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
