1 Seriously Injured in Oakland Crash Interstate 880 Near 23rd Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (August 30, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 880 near 23rd Avenue in Oakland.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck took place on Monday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 7:22 p.m.
CHP determined that at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Oakland. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 880, just south of 23rd Avenue.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log mentioned that officers located a white BMW 528I and a silver Hyundai Elantra in the area. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found one person who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at the time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 880 near 23rd Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Oakland crash.
