Major Injury Collision Near 5th Street Onramp Sunday
Oakland, CA (March 6, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic accident that occurred Sunday on Interstate 880, also known as Nimitz Freeway.
Our sources indicated a silver Mercedes sedan crashed for an unknown reason in the northbound side of the freeway in Oakland. Authorities said the collision took place near the 5th Street onramp.
CHP logged the case at approximately 5 a.m.
Woman Trapped, Injured in Car Accident on Interstate 880 in Oakland
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found the sedan with significant front-end damage. Officials added a woman ended up trapped in the mangled car. Responding firefighters worked extensively to free the victim.
The accident dispatch confirmed the female party pulled out of the wreckage sustained major trauma as a result of the crash. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the traffic crash on Interstate 880 in Oakland.
