Pedestrian, 95, Critically injured in Oakland Crash at 10th and Jackson Streets
OAKLAND, CA (April 26, 2021) – An elderly pedestrian was critically injured in Oakland Chinatown accident at 10th and Jackson Streets.
According to an article published by the East Bay Times, the collision occurred on Sunday morning. Officers reported the crash on April 25 at about 11:40 a.m.
The incident began when a male pedestrian was walking westbound at the intersection of 10th and Jackson streets in Chinatown. At the same time, a silver Toyota Sienna going north on Jackson.
Police said for an unknown reason, the minivan then struck the 95-year-old Oakland man in the marked crosswalk. Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene.

Medical personnel found him suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. They soon rushed him to a hospital and listed him in critical condition.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the Toyota stopped after hitting the elderly victim.
The motorist, a 62-year-old Oakland resident, stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the authorities. Officers forced the intersection to close for a time following the collision.
The cause of the Oakland pedestrian accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 510-777-8570.
