Cyclist Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 580 Near MacArthur Boulevard Friday
Oakland, CA (July 30, 2021) – A bicycle rider suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 580 Freeway Friday, the East Bay Times reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed a cyclist was heading east on the freeway in Oakland at about 10 p.m. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider. The catastrophic incident took place in the area just west of MacArthur Boulevard.

Shortly after 10 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site. First responders found the bicyclist lying on the roadway. According to the article published online, paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died.
No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the unfortunate event.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the deadly bicycle accident in Oakland happened.
