5 Injured in Oakland Crash at Foothill Boulevard and Church Street 

OAKLAND, CA (May 20, 2023) – Several were injured after a DUI crash at Foothill Boulevard and Church Street in Oakland.

According to an article published by the KTVU News, the accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck on May 19 at around 10:15 p.m. 

The incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in East Oakland. Police said the cars at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Church Street.

2 Cars Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found a total of five people hurt. The driver of the victim car and two passengers of the other vehicle ended up with non-life-threatening injuries upon impact.

A passenger in the victim car sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the victim to the hospital and listed them in critical condition.

The report did not release the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, police determined that the motorist who caused the incident was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Officers forced the area of Foothill and Church to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Oakland DUI crash is still under investigation.
