1 Killed, 2 Injured in Oakland Crash at International and Seminary
OAKLAND, CA (February 25, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured two others at International Boulevard and Seminary Avenue in East Oakland.
The incident happened on February 23 when a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed east on International Boulevard.
The Chevrolet slammed into a Ford Explorer that was stopped at a red light. Oakland police said the speeding driver continued through intersection of International and Seminary Avenue.
A Lexus ES350, going south on Seminary, then collided with the Camaro. In the process, the 23-year-old San Lorenzo man driving the Chevrolet ended up thrown from his car.
Speeding Driver Runs Red Light, Causes Multi-Car Collision
The impact pushed the Camaro into a Honda Civic. Police affirmed that the Chevrolet came to a stop after hitting a light pole on the south sidewalk of International.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the ejected motorist dead at the scene. They found the 62-year-old Pittsburg driver and a passenger of the Lexus who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took both patients to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, the motorists in the Ford and the Honda did not sustain any injury following the wreck. Officers soon forced the International Boulevard and Seminary Avenue to close after the Oakland crash.
