1 Killed in Oakland Car Crash on Interstate 580 Near Dutton Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (September 14, 2021) – A car crash killed at least one person and injured several others on the Interstate 580 in Oakland.
According to an article published by the East Bay Times, the tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 9 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said multiple vehicles became involved in the incident which happened in East Oakland. They crashed on the Interstate 580 near the Dutton Avenue off-ramp.
Several Injured in Collision
One of the vehicles involved then rolled over upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found several people who ended up hurt.
One victim died as a result of the collision. Medical personnel treated the other patients for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced all lanes of the Interstate 580 near Dutton to shut down for more than an hour following the wreck.
