OAKLAND (February 21, 2017)- According to the Oakland Sun, a fatal motorcycle crash resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man Saturday evening at the intersection of Auseon Avenue and International Boulevard.
Authorities received notification of the collision which took place at roughly 11:08 p.m. between a Dodge pickup truck and a Harley Davidson.
Limited information has been released at this time as to what exactly triggered the collision between the two motorists, however, there is speculation that the pickup truck driver may have been under the influence.
Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist, a resident of Pittsburg, did not survive the impact of the crash and was pronounced at the scene.
Per the East Bay Times, police arrested the truck driver on suspicion of a DUI as he was initially taken to the hospital prior to being taken in to jail.
No further information has been disclosed thus far.
